Ella-roo
Every child has their own way of learning how to make the sign of the cross. We call Ella's method the "pat down." It's like she is singing the song, "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes." But she does now the 3 main Catholic prayers: Our Father, Hail Mary and the Glory Be.
She is a little sponge that picks up every little gesture, habit, word, phrase, etc. She continues to sing to herself constantly. "C is for Cookie" is the new song on the brain and her new favorite thing to do is spell.
Ella, how do you spell dog? E-O-P-S. Dog.
How do you spell daddy? E-O-P-S. Daddy.
What about Ella? E-O-P-S. Ewa.
Sigh. Peanut/tree nut allergies. As well as a few others. Zyrtec is her nightly cocktail and an epi pen now accompanies my other writing implements in my purse.
Cazin
It seems as though he is learning his own way of adjusting to his receptive language disorder as we are learning better ways to cue him. Sharp as a whip, he is, but still sweet as honey.
He seems to dig my pregnancy much more than the last. Maybe he realizes that Ella will now join him in the middle child ranks.
What's in mommy's belly?
What'd you say?
What's in mommy's belly?
A baby!
Do you think its a girl or a boy?
A girl!
What should we name her?
Princess!
He is adamant about having a baby sister. Wish I could change his mind, but time will tell. Stay tuned on June 9th, people.
Jujube
OK, Juju. Have a good day at school. Its Grandparents Day, so don't act too crazy when they get there.
OK, mama. Well, I might be a little crazy.
OK, but not too much.
Alright.
Past aspirations: Ballerina, Princess. New goal: Author of children's books and illustrator of said books.
Here is one of her recent short stories:
Once upon a time there wre some aphids. One day a ladybug floe by she saw the aphids. She said, Im goying to eat you. The aphids said who are you. I'm your enumy ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. The aphids are dreming. The end.
Grandparents Day at CCS is quite the event. The middle schoolers lead the day and the grandparents and special guests are treated to pastries & coffee, performances, an art show, classroom activities as well as lunch. Even complimentary framed photographs of students with their special guests. Photo above is by Frank Murphy.
