It is hard to believe that Max is one month old. However I do believe he is the strongest baby on the planet. When I was pregnant, he used to keep me up some nights moving and kicking. I now understand why. The plus of big babies are that they don't feel floppy and amoeba-like, but it seems as if I gave birth to the bionic baby. He has amazing head control and pushes himself up with his legs. He can almost roll over. When I look at Max I see glimpses of Jujube and Cazin when they were babies. It has certainly brought flashbacks and I have enjoyed walking down memory lane. On the other hand, he is a fussy baby. And it has been 6 years since I dealt with a fussy baby. Late in the afternoon he is strapped to my chest in the Moby wrap followed by an evening dance. Good thing he has an angelic face and a hint of a smile when he looks at mama. There are no return tags on this one.
Stats at one month:
Height: 22 1/8 inches (75%)
Weight: 10 lb 4 oz (75%)
HC: 39 cm (75%)
The kids have adjusted well the first month. Cazin is as interested as much as a boy can be. The only transition behavior has been a handful of accidents and a case of I-pee-alot. Jujube has been wonderful and the best big sister a mama could hope for. She is great with him and while not incredibly affectionate, she is very protective of him and his safety. Besides mama, only Julia can get a smile out of him right now. Ella loves, loves, loves her baby brother. And loves, loves, loves to get right in his face cooing "Maxi! Maxi! Maxi!" She is so attentive, fighting with Cazin over who gets to be mama's helper feeding Max and fetching diapers. As her sweetness has increased, so has her rebellion against her parents. Occasionally she will ask for attention. "Mommy, can you put Max down and hold me?" or "Mommy, dat's enough of the Max."
Though she is in a awful stage where she will not smile for or look at the camera, Ella certainly keeps us laughing with her antics and words.
Mama, what is dat on your FACE?
A zit. Oh. Eew.
Mama, you have a moose-stash on your wip.
What did you say?! Nuthin.
Mama, (HAHAHA) is dat your BIG underwear? (No response)
(Mind you, she said all three things within 30 minutes to me. First things on my list when the doctor gives me the all clear: gym and spa)
Yesterday after school Ella gave me the run down of her time.
I do finger paintin' at school today.
What else?
Read a Jesus story in da Bible.
Which one?
Jesus was in a boat and was asweepin' and da water had a storm.
What did Jesus do?
He used a umbwewa.
I have loved staying at home. Never a dull moment.

I am laughing so hard about Ella right now. She might need her own blog soon!

I could read a whole blog of Ella-isms.
And that last picture melts my heart.
