Jujube has always had an interest in helping out in the kitchen whether climbing into the dishwasher at 10 months, scaling the pantry shelves at 2, or licking batter off the spatula at 3. Now at 4, she helps out whenever she can. After our movie, I was craving something sweet (even though we just had donuts). Jujube and I washed our hands, donned our aprons and made Guatemalan Cheesecake, a recipe we learned from
Cooking for Kids with Luis on Noggin. For dinner, we made pizza. Though I consider Jujube a purist (cheese only) when it comes to pizza, she did say to me while I loaded various on toppings onto my pizza, "I guess I could give pepperoni a try." However, she did turn her nose up to my other toppings of feta and green olives. I guess she has to become a little more adventurous before landing her own gig.

I would give the cheesecake 2.5-3 stars. It is not too sweet and the consistency is more like dense brownie/bread than regular cheesecake. For you Filipinos out there, it reminds me kind of like an American adaptation to
bibingka. Luis recommends topping the cheesecake with fresh cream and berries, but we opted for chocolate syrup.

A Julia Child in training! Make-your-own pizza night is always a hit in our house too.
Very impressive!! It all looks good to me :-)
That looks delicious, and Jujube looks adorable holding the cheesecake in that last picture.
