Camp Fantastic celebrated 30 years of bringing fun and love into the lives of kids with cancer. As always it was a beautiful, crazy, exhausting and fun. These kids are an inspiration to me through sickness, loss and survival. I'm going to blast you with several of my favorite links. My camp bin is all ready for 2013, T-shirts, duct tape art, bonkers hats and all.
Washington Post coverage. The dude covering was strange in an artsy way, but man he captured some very real moments.
ABC7 had a great story. I think Mike the reporter will be back again next year.
Dr. Ken Remy made a great video of one of the favorite songs of the week. I love seeing all the crazy med staff in it.
I've saved the best for last...
Camp Fantastic Survivor Medley 2012
A huge thank you to Camp Lolo & Lola as well as Ninang for keeping the kids. The first phrase out of Cazin's mouth when I opened the van door: "When are we going to see Lolo and Lola again?!" Oh, how I missed them.
The rest of this week has been trying to assimilate myself into the culture of Bon Secours. I like it, but perhaps I might need a little more of the Koolaid.
