Last night Mike and I went out for an impromptu late dinner with friends to celebrate his birthday. Since he hardly ever wants to do anything for his birthday, I jumped on the chance to go out. Our first choice, Tavola was closed, but we settled on Bonefish Grill where we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Getting up this morning for day 2 of work was excruciating, but I made it through the final day of hospital orientation. Tomorrow we start on more hands on activities and I can finally wear my scrubs. My array of "business casual" is quite limited since my normal attire for the past 2 years has been jeans and t-shirts.
I am already missing the kids and I can't wait till I am finally on my evening hours so that I can have more time with them during the day. Mike shared a funny story about Jujube with me and he is refusing to blog, so I will do my best to recall the story. Sometimes Mike takes Julia to school for me and I know that she just loves the time she has alone with her daddy. Julia's favorite singer/songwriter is Matt Maher. For as long as we can remember. She can pick his voice out every time. When she was 3, she proclaimed "My favorite people are Cinderella, Matt Maher and Dora (the Explorer)." Matt has released new album, "Alive Again", which Mike plays in the car. Apparently Julia requests the song "Sing Over Your Children" and asks Mike to turn it up loud. After the song, she says to him, "Daddy, I am going to be quiet to myself now. And look at the trees and the sky." My little philosopher.

Maybe I should play that song for Boss?!
I have always thought that Matt Maher should record a children's album. All of my kids are soothed and quiet when I play his music in the car.
Can't wait to check Matt out. Good luck with the rest of orientation.
Agreed on Bonefish grill's awesomeness (BANG BANG SHRIMP and great happy hour prices....), glad you guys could celebrate Mike's birfday.
The Julia/Matt Maher story...best ever. Love it.
