Now look, Julia is amazing. Uh-mazing. She always wants to do the right thing, never wants to disappoint me and she puts on a very brave face. Whenever I leave her, we always say goodbye with a hug and a kiss, but I knew my girl was a little nervous by the grip she had on my belly. I said prayers every hour until pick-up time and called and texted MFS for support. When we arrived at pick-up time I saw her walking off the field in what seemed like a sea of kids. She was kind of walking by herself and she had this look on her face. I braced myself for a little attitude. I called over to her and the first thing she asked me to do was to fetch her bag from the clubhouse. She didn't want to move anymore because she was soaking wet from the field. (Sprinklers + a full night of rain)
Did you have a good time? (Head nod) Did you really like it? Yes, but the one thing I don't like is being wet and dirty. He said that one of the rules was to get wet and dirty, but I don't like it and I don't think that is a real rule anyway.
I was relieved her face was from her general hatred of being wet and dirty and not from the events of the morning. Turns out she had lots of fun playing games, her coaches were nice and met some friendly kids. Let me specify. Some friendly boys. Once again, b**** slap.
This morning had me exhausted, so after lunch we went straight home for naps. Ella and I snoozed while the big kids read and played quietly. Then we headed over the library to turn in the reading lists from last week and claim their prizes. Whoa! A wadybug! exclaimed Ellaroo to the library volunteers.
I promise photos of soccer camp later this week. I had my camera, but I was too busy keeping my nerves in check and my brow from sweating.

I was on the edge of my seat at the beginning of this blog. I am SO glad it turned out to be a lot of fun...whew. These kids have a way of tugging at our heartstrings.
We are signing up for the Summer Reading Program tomorrow. Hope we get there in time for some 'wadybugs'!
I am glad you are ahead of me in the girl raising game. I anticipate making many future calls for all this. You can tell JuJu I think being wet and muddy is a ridiculous rule too ;)
