Busy and blessed

February has started so quickly, I'm having a hard time finding my footing. I'm going to work my way backward.

Four months ago today we welcomed our baby boy, Maximilian. While I cannot pinpoint what phase of a baby's growth is my favorite, we're certainly getting warmer.

Max still is quite the charmer, cooing, smiling and giggling. And he plays mama like the fiddle. He could be screaming at the top of his lungs and the moment I pick him up he smiles so big through his crocodile tears. Four months ago, I would never have predicted this. While his godmother prefers to call him tactile, I say he is Grabby McGraberson. He cannot get enough of hands and fingers as well as blankets, hair, cheeks, chins and loveys. Can a four month old be expressive with his hands? If so, Max is. My favorite is his British Army salute.

For the most part, Max sleeps through the night. Recently, unbeknownst to himself, Max will roll onto his belly while sleeping and wake up very upset at his new orientation. He hasn't quite figured out how to right himself yet, flailing around in the crib like a sky diver.
Last week was so exhausting (enough that MFS took a four hour nap on Sunday), but the outcome could not have been better. Besides family life, work and school activities, MFS was organizing his first ever Diocesan College Summit in Charlottesville this past weekend. The whole family happily got roped in the preparation. When MFS first brainstormed this idea, he thought it would be great if 100 students registered. Last Sunday night they were around 200. By Monday the numbers were over 300 and counting. With Divine intervention and a last minute locale change, MFS and his staff pulled off an incredible event. It was amazing. Our God is good!
Having fun with the college students.
Last Friday we saw Dr. Michel AGAIN, but this time for Ella's well check. I looked at my calendar. Counting this week, we will have visited Piedmont Peds four weeks in a row for a total of 6 visits. Count a trip to the ENT for Ella and it is 7 visits. That's a lot of diapers, folks. Ella is perfectly healthy and proportionate. By the numbers: Height 37.4 in, Weight: 33.6 lb.
Last Thursday, CCS had their first all school Faith Rally. Julia and Cazin shared their excitement when they returned home and I hope it is a tradition that CCS will continue. My excitement for that day was a phone interview with a hospital in Richmond. I think I made a good impression...I'm scheduled to visit/shadow the unit soon.

As I mentioned above, the rest of the week was filled with school, work and helping daddy prepare for the Summit. What a busy, blessed week.

I don't even know where to start! Max is awesome...British salute, Yoda slippers and all. MFS's college summit...what an incredible outreach to so many young adults! He (and all of you) are truly changing lives. Yeah for a healthy doctor visit. Yeah for the Faith Rally. And lastly...how could you NOT make a good impression. Any hospital would be lucky to have you.

Now I'm going to go mope about the fact that soon we won't be sharing a city.
