Ella Turns Three

Let's be honest, this birthday of Ella's was a little heartbreaking for me. Maybe because MFS and I are coming to the slow realization that we may not have more children. Further impacted by the recent sorting through all of the pretty dresses that no longer fit our growing Ellaroo (and Jujube). To whom will we pass these frocks that celebrated the earliest part of my girls' childhood? *Sigh*

Okay, let's move on to happier thoughts. Ella is three! ("I'm fwee!") She remains our silly, cuddly and feisty girl. Not only does she favor me in looks, but certain behaviors are haunting me from my childhood. For instance, I could never keep a straight face when my parents were disciplining me. There was my sister, scared as sin and there I was cracking up. Well, its 2012 and it is happening all over again. Her facial expressions alone make it hard to be stern.

Ella loves to sing and dance. She is extremely friendly which is simultaneously charming and frightening. Ella is a sharp watcher, only to assert herself at the most advantageous time. She also has the memory of an elephant like her big sister. Ella still manages to keep MFS (and the rest of us) wrapped around her little finger. When she cuddles, she still tucks her arms in against my chest and I know my baby girl is not far away.

On Friday we visit Dr. Michel again for Ella's well check to track her growth. When it comes to her health, she is knowledgeable. Not many 2 year olds would have a peanut check before eating as well as know about skin care regimen to prevent and treat eczema.

Happy Birthday Ella-roo! When you are around, smiles and laughter are soon to follow. You are brave, beautiful, forgiving, sweet and a friend to all. You bring us abundant joy!

This is often how they watch TV. All scrunched in together.

She is certainly a little you...a little Mama-roo.

Why o why is time flying by at warp speed? Also, love (love, love) the TV watching picture.
