In our theme of fiscal responsibility this year, I haven't been shopping much. I have to resort to getting my kicks from the grocery store, Sam's Club or living vicariously through friends like
Lauren who needed maternity clothes for her cute baby bump. Let me tell you, shopping for a skinny tall pregnant person is WAY more fun than shopping for my rotund self. I actually pulled things off the rack that I would never think of touching for myself. Let me also tell you that whoever is responsible for bringing back the jumpsuit either with pants or
hotpants should be discredited and sent back to fashion school. Unless it is a documentary on the on roller rink days in the 80s, I do not want to see it. Gag me. With a spoon.
What was I saying? Oh yes, shopping. While I usually take a hard line on my own retail desires, I often blur the lines when it comes to the kids. Like matching dresses for the girls. On Ella's birthday,
Lolo & Lola gave her a bunch of adorable spring dresses. And when I found a matching dress in Julia's size this week for the right price, well it was as if Dave Ramsey himself was giving me the green light. Today Ella finally got a pair of proper walking shoes and after 3 seasons of wet weather, I finally bought a rain coat for myself.
Cazin, Ella & I hightailed it out of the mall before we could do anymore damage. We spent the rest of our time reading and watching DVDs in the van before picking up Jujube from school.
As part of our bedtime ritual, Jujube and I always plan the wardrobe for the next day. Last night she requested to wear her new dress with Ella wearing the coordinating one. "When daddy wakes up, he will think we are twins!" She also pointed out to everyone today that they were wearing matching dresses.

Tea time

It has been a great week. As always, every week starts off with work and to sum that 2 night endeavor up:
Haldol &
Ativan. Better living through chemistry. Though I was not able to attend the last
Ignite.242 due to work, I want to give props to the Holy Spirit and the team for an amazing last ignite night of the semester. I hear that it was amazing night of worship, especially the procession of the Eucharist through campus from St. Thomas to the University Chapel. It has been a great
Jazzercise week and the more time I spend with that wonderful community of women, the less cranky I am (and more fit). Thursday, we had a picnic at the park with Julia's classmate Laurel after school, spent the afternoon with
MFS and grilled BBQ flank steak for dinner. This afternoon was blissfully uneventful. And with daddy away at a
Matt Maher concert, I hope tonight will be much of the same.

I was reading your blog thinking "I am such a sucker for matching dresses". Apparently you, Julie and I all think alike.
Your week sounds wonderful. Can't wait to get together sometime soon.
