Back in the saddle again

We've been contemplating my return to work for a while. Always reassessing where we are as a family. When we first made the decision for me to stay at home 2 years ago, it was a challenge giving up work, income and regular adult social interaction. Now it has been tough to make the reverse decision. But I feel in my heart that it is time for me to return to nursing. Oncology has been a quiet call, gently pulling me closer and closer the past 6 years. Months ago, when I first met with the nurse recruiter at Martha Jefferson and laid it all out, she pointed me in the direction of South 7, a medical/surgical floor that specializes in oncology. I start orientation on September 21st and will be working part-time evenings and nights. I am excited. I am terrified. I am thankful.

Sounds like God has been giving you a gentle nudge. And we all know that if ignored, that nudge becomes a shove :) Good luck with your new adventure. You will no doubt be a huge blessing to your patients.

Kay- As someone who still sees her oncologist/hemotologist once a year, I would LOVE it if you were my nurse!!! I am sure you will be great!
