Lazy Day

This is the first weekend I am totally on my own since Mike is off on a diocesan retreat. The day started off way too early when Cazin opened my bedroom door at 6AM. I marched him back to his room where I heard him talk to himself and Jujube, play with the door stopper, and knock on the wall and door with his feet for the next hour. When my kids get up that early I know something is wrong. And a fever presented itself right around lunchtime. When Cazin is sick, he acts so and took a long nap. Jujube is still full force when she is ill. What is it with boys when they are sick? (I know I am making a gross generalization, but this has been my experience with the men in my life.) I will take a kicking and screaming temper tantrum any day over constant whining and crankiness. Thank goodness for a better mood through chemistry. Tylenol did the trick and now he is back to his sweet self. But bless is little heart--I must admit he is cute when all he wants to do is snuggle.

Thankfully it was not total mayhem at our house today. Julia has been a great helper with Ella and folding laundry. (I love this age!) We played several rounds of "Go Fish" and I was a little lenient on the sweets. And the TV has been on pretty much all day.

It is hard to believe that one month ago, I was in the hospital having Ella. (Since this is not a leap year, I'm counting today as one month.) At this point I was still reeling over my little cherub. She has her one month check on Monday, but I can tell you she is doing great. Sleeping and eating well, more alert and awake, and I think I saw a hint of a smile today (not gas!). She also is lifting up her head and keeping it up for a few seconds before the weight of her large noggin wins.

Despite a fever, I do love days like this.

Had I remembered you were flying solo, we would have been there this morning; fever and all. Bill spent the day at school today, and we were looking for some trouble outside of this house. Glad my sweet boy is feeling better, and that y'all had such a lazy day!
